We are hosting our annual Family Open Day on Saturday 12th May from 2.00pm -4.30pm!

It promises to be a fun filled event with something for everyone!

We will have

- Music and singing from the children

- Barbecue and some food stands

-Tea, coffee and cakes

- Face painting

- Arts and crafts

-Games and sports activities for the kids

A huge amount of work goes into organising the Open Day, so if you would like to help out on the day or on the build up to it, please let your child’s teacher know!

School re-opens on Monday 16th April 2012. The children should line up in the yard at 8.30 am ready for collection by their teachers.

We had a brilliant sing song today trí Gaeilge ( in Irish) with all classes singing a song or saying a poem. It was great fun and it gave us all a chance to practice our Gaeilge.

Hi Everyone!

Following on from their success at the Young Scientist Competition it seems that Belmayne is on a winning streak!

The children  from 4th and 5th Class won the Leinster final of the National Schools Science Competition beating all the other schools in the province!

The Lemon Power project will now be judged against the very best in the country. If the children make it through to the next round they will represent Ireland in a European competition.

The trophy will be on display soon and photographs will  be uploaded shortly.

Congratulations to 4th and 5th Class and their fantastic teachers Aoife and Fiona.

Thanks to everyone who came and cooked! We had a great time and raised some money for the school.

Hi Everyone

As part of our International Week Celebrations we will be holding our Food Fair on Friday 23rd of March.

The evening promises to be a wonderful gathering with literally something for everyone!

The idea is simple bring a plate of food and get a chance to sample some tasty treats from another country!

We will also have a puppet show to keep the children entertained.

Setting up and organising the Food Fair is a huge undertaking so any help leading up to the event is greatly needed and appreciated. You can talk to your child’s teacher, leave your name with Paula in the office or talk to a member of the Parents’ Council to offer your help and support.

The Food Fair  venue is Naomh Barróg GAA Club, Kilbarrack Road, Kilbarrack, Dublin 5 and the festivities begin at 5.0o – 7.00 pm.

International Week is taking place in our school from Tuesday 20th March – Friday 23rd March.

During our week long celebrations we will be examining the many different cultures, languages and traditions that make up our school community.

Look out for dance lessons, arts and crafts, language lessons, stories and legends from different countries around the world. The week will finish off

with African drumming workshops and our International Food Fair taking place on Friday 23rd March.

Seachtain na Gaeilge is a fun filled week that celebrates and promotes the use of the Irish language and culture throughout our school.

You can look forward to hearing the children speaking and using their Gaeilge in the school and out on the yard.

In class the children will be performing little dramas as gaeilge or in Irish as well as practicing their Irish dancing skills in our Céilí Mór !

We will also be hosting our ever popular Cake Sale ( all shopping transactions as Gaeilge or in Irish) on Wednesday 14th of March , so get baking everyone!

We will be taking some time out during the week of the 5th of March to remember and celebrate the lives of loved ones who have passed away.

The children will be working on this theme in the class and we will also have a whole school assembly to mark this week.

It was a very busy start to term 2 as some of the children from 4th , 5th and 6th Class worked on creating lemon powered cars for the Young Scientist Science Fair in the R.D.S. last week. After many trials and failed attempts the children finally had success and created a battery that was powered by lemon juice! The children had a lot of work to do; building their cars and batteries , testing and changing their findings and typing up their results. Then they put all of their work together to create a very professional looking stand at the R.D.S.  They also spoke to other children and the judges about the project. The children received excellent feedback from the judges, children and teachers from other schools.

We are so proud of their hard work and achievements and we would like to thank the parents who used their expertise to help develop this fine project and also a massive congratulations to Fiona and Aoife!

On behalf of the staff of Belmayne Educate Together we would like to wish the whole school community very Happy Christmas and New Year.

We have received such fantastic feedback about the Christmas Play this year and we really appreciate your kind words and encouragement.

We were so proud of all the children who worked tirelessly over the past 6 weeks to make the show so very special this year.
