Junior Hurling League

To build on the great success of the school hurling team this year, we have organised a whole school hurling blitz. The school has been divided up into two leagues. The Junior League is for the pupils in Junior and Senior Infants and the Senior League is for all the pupils from First Class all the way up to Fifth Class.
(1) We play according to ground hurling rules.
(2) Players cannot touch the sliotar with their hands.
(3)Players can lift the sliotar with their hurls and strike it in the air.
(4) Boys receive 1 point and girls receive 3 points if they score.
(5) In the Junior League, each team play each other once.
(6) In the Senior League, each team play each other twice.
(7) Matches are divided into two five minute periods.
(8) The two top teams in the Junior League play each other in the final.
(9) The four top teams play each other in the semi – finals. 1st versus 4th and 2nd versus 3rd.
(10) The two finals will be played on the final day of the school term in front of the entire school.
